Looking Ahead to Fall: Country Day Tennis Looking to Win It All

The Yellowjackets boys tennis team took second in the state last year. Can they make it to the top spot this year?

The Detroit Country Day boys tennis team will enter the upcoming season with the highest of aspirations. In 2010, the Yellowjackets finished second in the state.

With nine returners on his 2011 squad, Yellowjackets’ head coach Tom Ellis sees good things on the horizon for the program.

“We expect to be back right where we were last year, battling it out at the end for a state championship,” he said. “There are a lot of talented players coming back for us, and they know what it takes to win. I want those guys who came close to getting that state title last season to get a chance to redeem themselves.”
