Updated 9 p.m.: Birmingham Groves faithful are among those taking refuge in the new Bloomfield Hills High School after the football field was evacuated due to looming thunderstorms. The game was called just before the second half kickoff.
If the Birmingham Groves Falcons had any jitters coming into Friday's season opener against Bloomfield Hills High School they sure aren't showing it.
Groves has led from the onset and is sitting comfortably with a 34-13 lead late in the second quarter of the first game ever played at the newly consolidated Bloomfield Hills High School.
