Police Seek Birmingham Shoplifter; Larcenies Reported

The Birmingham Police Department provided the following information. Arrests, where they are mentioned, do not indicate conviction.

The following are highlights from police reports released by the Birmingham Police Department for the past week. 

Retail Fraud
Employees at Back Country North reported that a female shopper stole three shirts on May 30. The suspect is described as white and in her 20's. She stood about 5'5", weighed about 135 pounds and had dark, shoulder length hair that was in a ponytail with a pink patterned headband.

Police reports said she entered the store at about 7 p.m. and had pearl colored sunglasses with large, copper colored lenses, mid-thigh off-white shorts, black Patagonia tank top and was carrying a black Patagonia "sling" backpack. She also had multiple tattoos, including an elephant on her calf and several other colored tattoos on her legs. She also had a scar on her right cheek.

Larcenies

  • A resident reported that $100 in cash was stolen from her vehicle while parked in the back parking lot of Forest Hills Swim Club at about 8 p.m. May 30. The vehicle was unlocked and the cash was sitting on top of her purse behind the driver's seat, reports said. There are no suspects or witnesses.
  • A resident reported that her purse was stolen from First United Methodist Church during services last week. The woman told police she inadvertently left the purse on the table outside the music room around 11:40 a.m. June 2. She left the church and later came back to find that her purse was gone, reports said. It is a black leather Marmi purse with two handles. There are no suspects or witnesses. 
  • An individual reported that a credit card and debit card was stolen from his wallet, that was left in his unlocked car at Kenning Park on May 30 between 7:30-8 p.m. No suspect information was available and police are investigating.
