Gifts earmarked for employees were discovered missing last week in one Birmingham office.

A business owner reported that someone stole Christmas gifts intended for his employees from his office at 950 E. Maple Rd. on Dec. 12, reports from the Birmingham Police Department said. The man said he bought the gifts for his staff recently and locked them in his office.

They were missing when he returned the following day, reports said. No suspect information was available.

The theft reportedly occurred sometime between 4 p.m. on Dec. 11 and 11:30 a.m. on Dec. 12.

Officers also investigated an incident where a man kicked in the false door of an office in the 700 block of Adams at about 3 p.m. Dec. 11. An employee at the office described the man as thin and in his 20's, and said he was with two women, who said he was just lost, reports said. They left quickly and non damage estimate was available.
