Motorists Arrested for Drugs and Drunken Driving in Birmingham

The Birmingham Police Department provided the following information. Arrests, where they are mentioned, do not indicate conviction.



Officers with the Birmingham Police Department made several arrests for alcohol or drug-related crimes over the past week. Here are the incidents highlighted from recent police reports.
  • A 37-year-old Novi man was arrested for driving with marijuana in his possession on Dec. 12, police said. A Birmingham officer stopped the man's vehicle in the area of Woodward Ave and Humphrey for an expired license plate tab at about 12:30 a.m. and located the drugs, reports said. The officer cited him for possession of marijuana and a court date is pending. 
  • A Birmingham officer responded to a report of a possible drunken driver in the area of Woodward Ave and Lincoln 9 p.m. Dec. 16. The officer spotted the vehicle driving erratically and stopped it. The driver, a 52-year-old Beverly Hills man, was under the influence of alcohol and arrested without incident, reports said. The officer cited him for operating while intoxicated, a third offense and bond was set at $500,000.
  • Birmingham officers arrested a 43-year-old Eastpointe man for drug possession after they observed him walking on Old Woodward Avenue near Lincoln at about 2:30 a.m. Dec. 3, reports said. The man was intoxicated and in possession of cocaine. A court date is pending.
  • Officers arrested a 17-year-old Eton Academy student for marijuana possession on school grounds on Dec. 5, reports said. They issued a citation for possession of marijuana, and released him bond pending a court date.
