Man Finds Stolen Tractor in Birmingham; Seaholm Lacrosse Gear Taken

The Birmingham Police Department provided the following information. Arrests, where they are mentioned, do not indicate conviction.

 

A man told Birmingham police that he saw a tractor that was stolen recently from a Troy construction site at a building under construction in the 2000 block of Cole Street, reports said. Officers verified the tractor did belong to the man and are investigating how it was in city.

  • Two Seaholm High School lacrosse players reported their bags, property and equipment stolen following practice last week, police said. The theft reportedly occurred at about 9 p.m. on April 23. The missing items included cell phones, sweatshirts, team uniforms and shoes. No suspect information was available and the incident remains under investigation.
  • A member of the Birmingham Racket Club told police a raincoat was stolen from her locker while she played tennis on April 19, reports said. The black Patagonia raincoat was taken between noon and 1 p.m. and contained house keys at the time of the theft. No suspect information was available.

Retail Fraud

Birmingham police are trying to identify a man that stole cell phones from Walgreens on Tuesday, reports said. The man walked in the store at about 4 p.m. and took two phones without paying. He was described as black, between 5-feet-8 inches and 5-feet-11 inches tall and had short hair, a mustache and a goatee. He also wore a dark blue "Detroit" baseball shirt; light blue jeans and white shoes. Police are investigating surveillance video.

Drunken Driving

A 38-year-old Royal Oak man faces drunken driving charges stemming form his arrest in the area of Woodward Avenue and 14 Mile Road on April 20, reports said. Officers witnessed the man's vehicle weaving between lanes and stopped him near the intersection. They arrested him without incident, booked and released him with a citation for operating while intoxicated.
