iPads Taken From Birmingham Restaurant, Garage Sale

The Birmingham Police Department provided the following information. Arrests, where they are mentioned, to not indicate conviction.

Officers with the Birmingham Police Department investigated the following larceny reports during the past week.

A resident in the 600 block of Wimbleton reported a black men's bike and a blue/gray women's bike were missing from their detached garage on July 5. A brown Coach briefcase with a Dell laptop and Apple iPad was also missing from a vehicle inside the garage, reports said. The garage and vehicle were unlocked at the time of the theft, which was reported at about 11 p.m. No suspect information was available.

On July 11, a resident in the 1300 block of Pierce reported an iPad was stolen during a garage sale. The man said there were only two people shopping at the time the iPad disappeared. One of the shoppers was described as a black man, about 40 years old, 6-feet-2 inches tall with a goatee. He was with a woman described as pregnant, about 5-feet-2 inches tall and between 30-35 years old, reports said. She wore her hair up.

On July 6, employees reported two Apple iPads used by staff at Fleming's Steakhouse were missing at about 4 p.m. The iPads were used to display wine menus. No witnesses or suspect information were available.
