Cars Damaged at Fiat Dealership, in Bates Street Alley

Man caught on tape smashing flower pots at Golling Fiat

A car was damaged at Golling Fiat overnight Sunday. Employees at the car dealership reported Monday that someone had thrown a flower pot at one of the cars parked on the side of the building, according to police reports. Two other flower pots from outside the building had been smashed as well. The dealership's surveillance video shows an unknown man throwing the flower pots around 1:55 a.m. Monday, though the video doesn’t show the man damaging the vehicle.

Man finds car damaged, surrounded by Dumpsters

Birmingham police are investigating after a resident reported an unidentified man damaged his car parked in the alley behind 151 Bates St. with a Dumpster.

According to police reports, police received a 911 call around 2 p.m. Sept 17, with the caller stating someone had put Dumpsters around an illegally parked car in the alley. The caller, who didn’t give his name, said the car needed to be ticketed.

Police then received another call from the car’s owner, saying that when he returned to his car that afternoon, he saw a man placing Dumpsters around the vehicle — at one point striking the car with a Dumpster, the owner told police. When he approached the man, he said something about the car being parked in the alley then drove away in another car.

The man’s license plate number was recorded and the callback number for the 911 call was also obtained by police.

Man ticketed for public urination

A man was ticketed for urinating in public around 2:20 a.m. Sept. 17. Patrol officers saw the 22-year-old from Warren urinating in front of on South Old Woodward Avenue, reports state.

Bike taken from back yard

A bicycle was reported stolen from the 700 block of Pierce sometime between Sept. 14-18. The bike’s owner told police the bicycle was left in the backyard and was worth approximately $500.
