Birmingham Police Arrest Teens For Trying Door Handles on Vehicles

The Birmingham Police Department provided the following information. Arrests, where they are mentioned, do not indicate conviction.

Officers with the Birmingham Police Department arrested two teens for lifting doorhandles on parked vehicles in the 1600 block of Graefield at about 4:30 a.m on June 9. Police received a report of two men trying to get into vehicles and saw the two suspects inside a vehicle near Eton and Maple. The driver, a 15-year-old Birmingham boy, and the passenger, a 15-year-old from Beverly Hills, were taken into custody. Charges are pending. 

OWI Arrest

A 20- year-old Rochester Hills man faces drunken driving charges following this arrest in the are of Chapin and Woodward, police reports said. An officer pulled a vehicle over for an expired license plate at about 3:30 a.m. and found the driver under the influence of alcohol. A bottle of alcohol was also found in the vehicle, reports said. The driver was arrested without incident and issued citations for operating while intoxicated, open intoxicants and an improper plate.

Marijuana Arrest 

A 17-year-old Bloomfield Hills teen was cited for marijuana possession after police found him in a vehicle parked on the top level of the Park Street Parking Structure at 9 p.m.  June 8. Police arrested him, issued a citation and a court date.

Bikes Stolen 

A resident in the 2400 block of Yorkshire reported a silver Specialized Epic men's bike, a gray Giant men's bike and a light blue Specialized girl's bike, along with golf clubs were taken from his garage. The theft reportedly occurred between 8 p.m. June 5 and 7 a.m. June 6., and the garage door may have been unlocked. No suspect information was available.
