The Baldwin library is our children's future.

An earnest but perhaps shortsighted resident, is doing his best to halt the renovation, expansion and future success of our Baldwin Public Library.  This institution is vital to the central health of Birmingham.  I go to Library Board meetings on a regular basis.  I cannot say that he has.  This major project is being done by renowned Architects specializing in this kind of project.  What we need now and the distant future is uppermost in their planning.  As for the costs, every avenue is being explored to keep costs at a decent level.  If we don't look to the future, we are doomed to fail.  If a bond issue is used, I believe we, as a city, can afford it spread out over 20 years.  Please don't let  a few naysayers stop this project.  The only regret will be if he succeeds in his endeavor to stop progress.  Progress is a good good thing, for younger and older alike.
