"Oakland County Clerk/Register of Deeds Bill Bullard has earned our support to stay on the job," writes former Oakland County Clerk and Register of Deeds G. William "Doc" Caddell.

To the Editor,

Oakland County Clerk/Register of Deeds Bill Bullard has earned our support to stay on the job.

During my service, we were very successful in pioneering many of the technological advances that have allowed citizens to access our service online. Service was our motto. This, of course, saved taxpayers' and our customers' valuable time and money.

Since taking office Bill Bullard has made remarkable strides in building on those early successes with his "Online Not In Line" program. A new e-recording portal will open the availablity of filing online land documents to anyone in an easy-to-use format.

The award-winning E-filing Center he launched has helped thousands of Oakland County citizens access and file legal papers in a convenient way. His expanded moble office has brought county services to every corner of the county, even on nights and weekends.

I had the honor of working with Lynn Allen, who for decades served as County Clerk/Register and whose care for the office and the poeple it served is legendary. His legacy is one of caring about the people we serve and being a wise steward for the taxpayers. When I became County Clerk/Register, those were the values I tried to honor. Bill Bullard carries that legacy on very well and Oakland County voters would be wise to keep him on the job as our County Clerk/Register.
