BBSO ends the season with Tastes “From the Old World” Benefit

Join us on April 17, 2011, as the Birmingham-Bloomfield Symphony Orchestra (BBSO) celebrates the end of its 36th season with an event titled From the Old World. Celebrating with gourmet culinary tastes and spirits from around the world. The event will also honor Chairman of the Board, Richard Tropea, and his 20 years of service to the BBSO. 

The Benefit will take place at Scavolini by Cucina Moda. Tickets  include a gourmet dinner, dessert and spirits,  a concert ticket to the From the New World concert, which takes place at 7:00 at Birmingham Groves High School Auditorium, following the benefit.

Rich Tropea has served on the board of the BBSO for 20 years, acted as Chairman of the Board for 4 years and served as President for 5 years before that. In addition to working with the BBSO, Rich is very active in the Birmingham-Bloomfield community, having served as co-director of Proud Dads at Birmingham Covington School, founder and coach of the Birmingham Jaguars Softball Club, and President of the Birmingham Seaholm Softball Boosters Club. He also served and retired as a Lieutenant Colonel, Intelligence, from the Army Reserves after 22 years. Rich is Vice President of Investments at Raymond James & Associates in Birmingham.

Now in its 36th season, the BBSO has been voted one of the best orchestras in all of Michigan. Under the direction of conductor Charles Greenwell, the BBSO is committed to bringing the community exceptional classical and pops concerts at affordable prices.

Tickets to From the Old World Benefit are $75 per person. Tickets may be purchased in advance online at www.bbso.org or by contacting Kelsey Browne at bbso@bbso.org or (248) 225-6995. Each benefit ticket includes one complimentary ticket to the performance.
