What's Open and Closed in Birmingham This Easter

City Hall is open on Friday but the library will be closed on Easter Sunday.

Today is Good Friday, but that doesn't mean you can't get your errands done this Easter weekend.

Here's a look at what's open and closed this weekend. If you're around town and notice something is closed for Easter or Good Friday, let us know in the comments below!

  • Baldwin Public Library: Baldwin will be closed on Sunday, though the library will still be open on Friday. The library re-opens at 9:30 a.m. Monday.
  • Birmingham City Hall: Don't worry about paying that parking ticket; city hall is still open on Friday and will re-open again at the regular time on Monday.
  • Grocery stores: Kroger, Papa Joe's Gourmet Market and Market Square are open regular hours this weekend.
  • Banks: All banks are open normal hours this Friday and weekend.
  • U.S. Post Office: The post office on Bowers Street is open regular hours this weekend, with regular mail delivery on Friday and Saturday.
  • Schools: All Birmingham public and private schools, including all Birmingham Public Schools, are on spring break by Friday. School will be back in session by April 8.
  • Trash collection: Easter and Good Friday does not impact trash collection in Birmingham.
