From a Halloween parade to the library's Books and Bites, you'll be busy — not bored — in Birmingham this month.

October is the time for Fall and Halloween in Birmingham, and there's plenty of special events happening around town all month long.

  • The Birmingham Farmers Market happens every Sunday until Oct. 28 from 9 a.m. - 2 p.m. at Parking Lot No. 6 on North Old Woodward.
  • 'Gretchen Maricak and Birmingham's Eco-City' will be on display at the Birmingham Historical Museum through Nov. 10.

Senior Expo & Flu Shot Clinic at the Birmingham Area Senior Center (BASCC) - Tuesday, October 2 from 10 am to 1 pm. Enjoy over 50 exhibits featuring healthcare, consumer produts, services and housing for seniors, caregivers and family members. Flu Shots will be administered by the Visiting Nurses Association. (Bring your insurance card) Free admission, refreshments and door prizes.
