Weekend Planner Features Dog Show at Berkshire, School Fundraiser and More

Family: BYA Dog Show

• When: 1-3 p.m. Sunday
• Where: Berkshire Middle School
• Cost: $7 per dog; registration ends Thursday
• Why Go: See some of Birmingham's prettiest and most well-behaved pooched during the Birmingham Youth Assistance's 32nd annual dog show this Sunday. Guest judges include Birmingham and Beverly Hills' local and state representatives and prizes will be awarded for everything from best looking, best costume and best trick.

Charity: Unabashed Bash

• When: 6:30 p.m. Saturday
• Where: Townsend Hotel
• Cost: $175 per person, $350 per couple
• Why Go: Raise money for the Birmingham Education Foundation — which provides grants for Birmingham Public Schools students — at the 12th annual Unabashed Bash. The evening will feature dinner, a live and silent auction and performances from Birmingham students.

Film: 'Of Two Minds' premiere

• When: 2 p.m. Sunday
  
• Where: The Maple Theater (4135 W. Maple Rd. in Bloomfield Hills)
  
• Cost: $20
  
• Why Go: This Sunday, see the premiere of Of Two Minds, a documentary produced by two former Detroit residents about the lives of three individuals struggling with bipolar disorder. Proceeds from the premiere will benefit the Southfield-based mental health organization Kadima and its Miya Jo Must Home, a retreat for women living with bipolar disorder.

History: 'From There to Eternity' tour

• When: 11 a.m. Saturday
  
• Where: Cranbrook House (380 Lone Pine Rd. in Bloomfield Hills)
  
• Cost: $30
  
• Why Go: Experience the romantic love story between Cranbrook founders George and Ellen Booth this weekend during a special tour of the Cranbrook House. Visitors will be able to check out artifacts such as Ellen Booth's restored wedding gown, love letters exchanged between the Cranbrook founders and an exclusive peak at rarely-seen corners of the Cranbrook House. The tour includes a box lunch and guests should park across the street at Christ Church Cranbrook. This is the first four themed tours offered by Cranbrook this winter and spring.
  

Music: 'Goldberg Variations' concert

• When: 4 p.m. Sunday
  
• Where: St. James Episcopal Church
  
• Cost: Free
  
• Why Go: Esacpe into music this weekend when harpsichordist Glenn Burdette performs the 'Goldberg Variations' of J.S. Bach at St. James Episcopal Church. The concert is free though there will be a freewill offering.
