Viewfinder: Village Fair Opens to Warm Weather, Happy Crowds

The Birmingham Village Fair will be open from 11 a.m.-11 p.m. Friday.

Elephant ears, games, thrilling rides and prizes were plentiful opening day of the 48th annual . 

The weather was beautiful and families with children young and old were in attendance enjoying the atmosphere in and around . Many said they would be returning before the end of the fair on Sunday. Popular rides included the slides, Pharaoh's Fury and the carousel. 

The fair will be up and running from noon to 11 p.m. on Friday, 11 a.m. - 11 p.m. on Saturday and noon-9 p.m. on Sunday. Tickets are four for $5, a set of 22 tickets for $25 or a wristband for unlimited rides for $20.
