Viewfinder: Birmingham Up Early for St. Patrick's Day

Dick O'Dow's opens at 7 a.m. Thursday for breakfast and early-morning mugs of Guinness.

Birmingham residents and visitors alike were out early this morning at , Birmingham's only Irish pub, celebrating the day when everyone is a little bit Irish.

"Coming to Dick O'Dow's is a family tradition," said Mike McDonough, who sipped his beer at 7:30 a.m. "I'm Irish so this is my seventh or eighth year."

Dick O'Dow's owner Mitch Black said he expects the bar to fill up throughout the day, especially toward the evening when Michigan State tips off in its first game of the NCAA basketball tournament.
