Get Out: Community Garage Sale, Beach Party and More

From a Kids Fun Festival to a meet-and-greet with a state senator, there's something for everyone this weekend.

  1. Where: 1478 Webster St.
    When: 8 a.m.-1 p.m. Thursday-Saturday
    Why: Several neighbors in the Torry Community Neighborhood Association (located in and around Webster Street) will be hosting a community garage sale. The home at 1478 Webster St. will have lemonade and sweets. Available for sale are kids clothes and toys, antiques, clothing and kitchen items.

  2. Where:
    When: 11:45 a.m.-2:15 p.m. Saturday
    Why: Sen. John Pappageorge (R-Troy) will be at the Baldwin Public Library meeting with constituents.

  3. Where: Parking lot No. 6 off North Old Woodward
    When: 9 a.m.-2 p.m. Sunday
    Why: Learn how to improve your health at the Farmers Market's health and fitness event.
  4. Beach Party Celebration
    Where:
    When: 10 p.m.-2 a.m. Sunday
    Why: Dress up for the beach and head out for specials all night because South Bar will be hosting a "Life's a Beach" party. Live DJ's will be spinning hip-hop, R&B, reggae house, latin and top 40 hits all night. 

  5. Where: Downtown Clawson
    When: 11 a.m. Saturday
    Why: Need to get out of the house, out with the kids, maybe even out of town this weekend? The Kids Fun Festival in Clawson involves a Kiddie Parade, a Coney Island hot dog luncheon, games and a big wheel race.
