Fuel Report: Gas Prices Spike to $4.09 in Birmingham Monday

Gas prices are going up across Metro Detroit but in Birmingham, they're spiking even higher.
According to the AAA, the average price for a gallon of gas in Metro Detroit is $3.89 this morning, up from $3.73 a gallon a week ago.
If you're still looking for inexpensive gas, the cheapest reported gas in the region can be found in Southfield and Detroit, where gas prices are $3.64 at a Sam's Club at 8 Mile and Lahser and at the Ammex near the Ambassador Bridge and Lafayette.

That isn't the case in Birmingham. Far exceeding regional average, gas prices are topping $4 Monday morning, with the cheapest option being the Speedway and Citgo stations on Woodward.
