Fuel Report: Area Gas Prices Top $3.65 a Gallon
While gas prices in and around Birmingham are higher than Metro Detroit averages, one of the city's lowest prices can be found in Royal Oak.
It's the beginning of a new week and with the weather trying to warm up — temperatures are expected to be in the mid- to upper-40s all week — you might be tempted to do more driving than usual.
At the pump, prices are steadily climbing. According to AAA, the price for a gallon of regular gas in Metro Detroit is $3.53, up from $2.73 at this time last year and $3.52 a week ago.
The cheapest price in the Detroit area Monday morning was $3.34 in Richmond, while the second-cheapest was in Royal Oak, near 11 Mile and Woodward, at $3.38 a gallon.
