Feature Photos: Birmingham Firefighters Fight for Air in Detroit
Three Birmingham firefighters participated in the American Lung Association's Fight for Air Climb in downtown Detroit Sunday.
Three firefighters from the — Alan Soave, Mathew Bartalino and Andy Haid — participated in Sunday's Fight for Air Climb Firefighter Challenge in downtown Detroit, benefiting the American Lung Association.
According to Paul Wells, president of the Birmingham Firefighters Association, the three raised approximately $2,000 at the climb. The trio joined 22 fire departments from Detroit and the metro area.
During the Fight for Air Climb, participants climbed the 1,035 steps of Detroit's Renaissance Center. Many of those participating in the Firefighter Challenge did so with their full gear on — all 70 pounds of it.
