Feature Photo: DAR Honors Vets of Birmingham's Past for Memorial Day

Local members of the Daughters of the American Revolution honored Birmingham's veterans Friday by placing American flags at more than 100 veteran graves.

The Piety Hill chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) marked Memorial Day by remembering the veterans of Birmingham's past.

Members of the DAR chapter, which is based in the Birmingham and Bloomfield area, placed American flags on more than 100 graves of veterans at Birmingham's .

The Piety Hill Chapter of the DAR traces its patriotic, civic and community service roots back to 1935 and is committed to organizing and taking part in a multitude of civic activities in and around the Birmingham and Bloomfield area.

The DAR will also help host a Memorial Day ceremony in at 10 a.m. Monday.
