Birmingham Elementary Students Explore the Underground Railroad

Students at Bingham Farms and Beverly Elementary learned about the Underground Railroad first-hand this month thanks to two teachers.

History came alive for hundreds of Birmingham students this month, with two teachers putting together a special Underground Railroad event for students at Bingham Farms Elementary and Beverly Elementary.

Media Technology Specialist Hilery Cash and art teacher Tony Fink worked together to set up various displays to help students better learn how slaves found their way to freedom before and during the Civil War.
