From now until Dec. 31, you can help raise money for breast cancer research.

Want to feel beautiful, inside and out?

Next time you purchase beauty products for yourself or as a gift, why not try Marmalade Hills’ "Pink Grapefruit" product line? From now until Dec. 31, the Bloomfield Hills company will donate 15 percent of all retail sales of the fruit-smelling line to The Pink Fund.

Also based in the Birmingham-Bloomfield area, the non-profit helps men and women suffering from breast cancer focus on overcoming their illness and return to their everyday lives of working and raising their families. Founded by breast cancer survivor Molly MacDonald, The Pink Fund strives to help patients get back on their feet by offering short-term financial assistance during the active treatment and recovery periods.

Marmalade Hills founder Liana Spiegel says cancer is an issue that has touched her personally.

"Eight years ago, my family went through nine agonizing months before losing my dad to cancer," Spiegel said. "It is a terrible, numbing feeling of helplessness and disbelief that you fight with every day, but you have to get up in the morning and try to live your life."

Spiegel said she's humbled to be given the opportunity to lessen the burden for cancer patients and their families. The company will also be donating to The Pink Fund 5 percent of wholesale orders.

Select local retailers will be hosting events throughout October, National Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Customers will have the chance to sample the line of all-natural products including face wash, eye makeup remover, body polish, lip balm and body lotion, as well as chat with Spiegel herself. The first event will be held on Oct. 13 at noon at Mills Pharmacy in Birmingham.
