Farm Rich Product Recall Affects Birmingham Kroger Store

Customers with Kroger Plus Cards who purchased the products will receive notifications by phone and on their register receipts.

If you have a Kroger Plus Card and purchased Farm Rich products subject to a recent recall due to possible E. Coli contamination, expect to hear from the retail chain.

On Friday, the U.S. Department of Agriculture Food and Safety Inspection Services (FSIS) announced Farm Rich products is voluntarily recalling 196,222 pounds of product. At this time, the recall only affects 22 oz. Farm Rich Mini Pizza Slices, with a “Best Buy” date of May 15 or May 16, 2014, in the Kroger Michigan Division. The product UPC code is 41322 35643.

“All Kroger customers who purchased the recalled product using their Kroger Plus Card will receive a phone call and a message on the bottom of future receipts stating the recalled product was purchased,” said Dale Hollandsworth, Customer Communications Manager, The Kroger Co. of Michigan. “We have pulled the product from our store shelves, and customers who purchased the product can expect a full refund for the recalled product.”

According to the USDA, bacteria can spread throughout the kitchen and get on hands, cutting boards, knives and countertops. Frequent, thorough cleaning can keep that from happening.

There are two Kroger stores in Farmington Hills, at 25780 Middlebelt Rd. and 37550 W. 12 Mile Rd.

A full product list of recalled items and affected areas is available at kroger.com/recall and is organized by name and UPC code.

What about the people who did not use the Kroger plus card? Not very nice, omg

It has nothing to do with "being nice." Kroger has no way to contact those who didn't use their Kroger Plus Card. They're the only ones who gave their contact information to Kroger.
