A snapshot of activity in Birmingham's business community this week:

Auto Zone Hobbies to offer Cruise signs

will offer 2011 Woodward Dream Cruise street signs again this year, and although the signs were unavailable in 2010, the producer will also offer 2010 signs for collectors, Auto Zone's Steve Pasteiner said. The signs are made of heavy-gauge steel and cost $30 each.

J. McLaughlin coming to Birmingham

National clothing retailer J. McLaughlin will move into the former Nicole Miller location in downtown Birmingham this fall. The store at 268 W. Maple Rd. will be open by the beginning of November, Birmingham's retail consultant Julie Fielder announced at the Aug. 4 meeting of the board. The Birmingham store will be J. McLaughlin's first in Michigan, according to the J. McLaughlin website.

Bloomfield Hills teen to sell handmade bracelets at lemonade stand event

Tess Garcia, a soon-to-be-eighth-grader at East Hills Middle School in Bloomfield Hills, has signed on to sell her handmade bracelets and pendants made out of pop tops at 's Aug. 20 attempt to form the . Garcia's jewelry, priced between $5-$12, is also available at the Yellow Door Art Market in Berkley.
