Dream Cruise Snapshot: Honoring His Wife's First Car

Richard Mamyek said he bought his 1967 Buick Wildcat because it was the first car his wife owned when she graduated from high school.

Why this car: Mamyek said he purchased his Wildcat because when his wife graduated from high school, her father purchased her a Wildcat. She eventually sold it, but when Mamyek and his wife saw one for sale, they felt they had to scoop it up.

What do you love about the Dream Cruise: Mamyek, who was sitting with his entire family on the side of Woodward Avenue near the , said he loves the camaraderie of the Cruise.

"It's just a big safe party," he said, noting that he arrived around 5 a.m. Saturday and won't be heading home until 10 p.m. or so.
