Turkey Shoot Golf Event, Roeper Open House This Weekend in Birmingham

U-M Men’s Glee Club at Country Day

Detroit Country Day School invites the community for a special performance by the University of Michigan Men's Glee Club at 7 p.m. Friday, Nov. 8 at the Seligman Performing Arts Center. The event is free to the public and sponsored by the DCDS Conservatory of Fine and Performing Arts.

Turkey Shoot

The City of Birmingham hosts the 2nd Annual Turkey Shoot Golf Classic at 10 a.m. at the Lincoln Hills Golf Course. The cost is $30 per player, and includes 18 holes and an awards dinner. Support the food drive and save $10 on the entry fee by bringing a frozen turkey. Bring other non-perishable food and receive $5 off admission. All donations support Lighthouse of Oakland County.

Baldwin Book Sale 

The Baldwin Public Library will offer a wide variety of books, movies, and music, during the annual Used Book Sale between Nov. 9-11. Hosted by the Friends of the Library, the event will feature more than 10,000 books sorted by category for easy browsing. All proceeds will go towards library programs and materials. A preview for members only is scheduled for 7 p.m. Nov. 8. See more on the library's website.

Light the Way

Lighthouse of Oakland County will start its holiday season fund-raising campaign to benefit more than 800 local families in need at the 3rd
annual Lighting the Way for the Holidays party at 5:30 p.m. at the Townsend Hotel. The event, previously at Somerset Place, is at the Townsend for the first time, and will feature a silent auction and a decorating duel between local designers. 
 

Roeper School Open House: 6th - 12th Grade

Take a peek inside The Roeper School at 1 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 10 and listen to administration, faculty, and current Roeper students discuss how the school designs and delivers an education specifically for intellectually-gifted students. A short class taught by faculty part of the experience. The open house takes place a the Upper School, located at 1051 Oakland Ave., in Birmingham.
