OUR TOWN Art Show and Sale

Birmingham, MI, --The 28th Annual OUR
TOWN Art Show and Sale, presented by The DeRoy Testamentary Foundation
and The Community House will take place October 11&12, 10am-6pm at The
Community House, 380 South Bates Street, Birmingham, MI.    The show is open to the public at
no charge.  OUR TOWN starts with the opening night “Art in Vogue” Preview
Party, sponsored by Raymond James, on Thursday
October 10, 5:30-9 p.m. The evening includes strolling hors d'oeuvres, live musical entertainment, a
live fashion/art presentation and the first opportunity to preview and purchase
art. Friend tickets, with admission at 6:30 p.m., are $75. Tickets are $200 for
Benefactors with admission at 5:30pm. Benefactors will also receive a
commemorative tile designed
by artist Laurie Mueller. 



The juried, all media art show provides a forum for Michigan
artists to show and sell their work. The art ranges from traditional to
contemporary.  Thirty-five percent of the proceeds from the art sales are
used to fund TCH wellness, leadership and art outreach programs for at risk
youth in Pontiac and Detroit. 



The
event will showcase 340 pieces of artwork from 167 artists and will award
$10,000 in prize money to Michigan artists.
Artist Rachelle Nozero and Gregory Wittkopp, Director of the Cranbrook Art Museum, are the jurors for the 2013 OUR TOWN
Art Show and Sale.  The
2013 OUR TOWN Art Show and Sale is Co-Chaired by Barbara Heller and Janice
Degen. Benefactor Chair is
Julie Rodecker. This year’s Honoree is Art Rodecker (posthumously).

“We are thrilled to present the OUR TOWN Art Show and Sale
featuring the best of the best of Michigan’s artists,” said Barbara Heller,
Co-Chair of the event.  "This is the 28th year this popular annual
event has served to raise needed funding for The Community House.  The
Preview Party includes an “Art in Vogue” component that combines fashion
and selected artworks.  We welcome the community’s support in the success
of this year’s show!”
