Raw Food Expert Andrea McNinch Visits the Baldwin Public Library

Interested in what raw foods have to offer? Andrea McNinch will share her expertise tonight at the Baldwin Public Library.

Andrea McNinch will bring her unique brand of nutritional and raw food education to the Baldwin Public Library for a special free program today at 7 p.m.

Learn how to turn seasonal local summer produce into nutritional meals that will please the family, impress friends, and — most importantly — make you feel better by reversing the aging process. McNinch, a graduate of Schoolcraft College's Culinary Arts Program, is a pioneer in the raw food and vegan movements, and has made dozens of appearances on national television and conferences. She will share food and recipes with participants and open some eyes to a new way about thinking about food.

"We hosted Andrea for a teen program about nutrition and the raw food movement a while back and had so many adults request to attend that we thought we'd give the adults an opportunity to meet Andrea and discover the benefits of raw food for themselves," Adult Services Librarian Denise Konchel said.

"There’s more to going raw than grazing on the grass in your backyard," she writes on her website. "Yes, it involves going back to our primal culinary roots—eating organic plant-based whole foods in their pure, natural state, as nature intended. But these foods can still be presented as culinarian AND sexy, and are delicious!"
