I began my "culinary" adventures when I came home from school one day in second grade and my mother announced, "Now that you can read a recipe, Sue Ann, I am going to teach you how to bake!" and I have been actively involved with food ever since.
In addition to being a Living Light raw food chef since 2006, I am a registered nurse with more than 40 years experience in the ER, ICU and elderly care and am also a board certified lymphatic therapist, Laughter Yoga teacher, wellness coach, guided imagery therapist, holistic health counselor, and Food for Life instructor. Additionally, I have studied extensively with the Center for Mind-Body Medicine and am certified as both a "CancerGuide" and "Food as Medicine" counselor, as well as with Andrew Weil's "Nutrition and Cancer" program.
Since 2002, I have worked with Gilda's Club both in Royal Oak and Grand Rapids presenting movement, laughter and raw food programs to cancer survivors. In addition to teaching raw food and Laughter Yoga nationwide, I have also developed two highly successful programs, CANcer-Proof Your Life and the HighOctane Cleanse. Just last month, I taught and certified FIVE new raw food chefs through my company, Sante, Institute for Raw Food and Healing.
A cancer survivor myself, my mission is to educate and empower joyful and healthy lifestyle choices.
