Teen Says Men Tried to Rob Him; Thrown Rock Damages Aston Martin

The following is a roundup of recent Birmingham Police reports: A Birmingham 16-year-old said a car full of young men tried to rob him last Friday. According to police reports, the teen was riding his skateboard home around 9:45 p.m. on June 29 near Oakland Avenue and Woodward. He told police that four young men in a black Chevrolet Cruze approached him. One of the men, he said, got out and demanded his money. The teen fled on skateboard, police say, and told one of his parents about the incident, noting that he saw the car pull into Poppleton Park. The parent went to the park and tried to talk to the men, but they fled, police reports say. Detectives are currently investigating. Police are still looking for a young man who ran away from …

Suspected Drunken Driver Gets Stuck in Median; Women Arrested Outside South Bar

The following is a roundup of recent Birmingham Police reports: Birmingham Police arrested a 20-year-old from Sterling Heights on Sunday night on suspicion of drunken driving after he got stuck in the median on Woodward Avenue. According to police, officers responded to a call around 11 p.m. that a car was stuck in the center median on Woodward near the Maple Road intersection. When officers got there, the driver said he spun out when he pulled out of the Speedway gas station and became stuck in the median. The man was taken into custody and then to St. Joseph Mercy Oakland hospital in Pontiac for a blood sample to determine his alcohol level. Police say there was minor damage done to the grassy area in the median. A group of young women …

Police Arrest Woman in Assault on Security Guard at Hamilton Room and More

The following is a roundup of recent Birmingham Police reports: A Novi woman was arrested Saturday on charges of allegedly assaulting a security guard at the Hamilton Room in downtown Birmingham. According to police reports, officers arrived at the bar around 12:45 a.m. on a call that an unruly woman was refusing to leave when asked. According to bar employees, the 42-year-old woman appeared to be intoxicated when she arrived at the bar. She was refused service and asked to leave, but she then allegedly clawed a security guard who tried to escort her to the door. The woman was charged with assault and given a court date. A 21-year-old man from Birmingham was arrested after hitting a stopped vehicle at the intersection of Maple and Bates …

Police Search for Stolen Chrysler Sebring; Minors Arrested for Alcohol Possession

The following is a roundup of recent Birmingham Police reports: Birmingham police arrested two young men from Ferndale and Hazel Park early Saturday morning for being in possession of alcohol as minors as well as hanging out a car window. According to police reports, officers saw the vehicle traveling on Woodward near Hamilton Row at around 2:50 a.m. Saturday. The front seat passenger was hanging out the window, reports state. When officers stopped the vehicle, they saw it was occupied by two passengers — one in the front seat — in addition to the driver. The following is a roundup of recent Birmingham Police reports: A 55-year-old man from Beverly Hills was arrested Wednesday afternoon at Kroger for allegedly trying to steal two bottles of whiskey. According to police reports, the man was observed by store employees around 4:30 p.m. walking into the liquor aisles and removing two bottles of Gentleman Jack whiskey from the shelf. He then walked to another aisle and put the bottles into his backpack, the reports state. According to police, the man then walked to the checkout lane and purchased a bag of snacks.
