Man Finds Stolen Tractor in Birmingham; Seaholm Lacrosse Gear Taken

The Birmingham Police Department provided the following information. Arrests, where they are mentioned, do not indicate conviction.

  A man told Birmingham police that he saw a tractor that was stolen recently from a Troy construction site at a building under construction in the 2000 block of Cole Street, reports said. Officers verified the tractor did belong to the man and are investigating how it was in city. Larcenies Retail Fraud Birmingham police are trying to identify a man that stole cell phones from Walgreens on Tuesday, reports said. The man walked in the store at about 4 p.m. and took two phones without paying. He was described as black, between 5-feet-8 inches and 5-feet-11 inches tall and had short hair, a mustache and a goatee. He also wore a dark blue "Detroit" baseball shirt; light blue jeans and white shoes. Police are investigating surveillance video. …

Police: Drunk Woman Drove Her Mercedes Into a Birmingham Home

Check out the latest reports from the Birmingham Police Department: Police arrested a 45-year-old Birmingham woman last Friday after she drove her Mercedes Benz into a home on Hawthorne, near Aspen. According to police reports, the incident happened around 7 p.m. Friday, March 22 on the 600 block of Hawthorne. The woman was under the influence of alcohol at the time, police say. A woman's purse was taken out of her car while she was bringing in groceries on the 2600 block of Windemere last Wednesday, March 20. According to police reports, the woman was bringing in her groceries around 5:30 p.m. Her purse was later found near a dumpster in the Coolidge and Maple area; the only thing missing was about a dollar in change. I wonder why sometimes criminals are publicly shamed with their photos being posted in the article--i.e. the female who fired a handgun in downtown birmingham, and other times the photos are not provided. I think it's only fair that this drunken birmingham woman who drove her car into someone's home be posterized on the patch like the aforementioned female who discharged her firearm. Woman Finds Someone Rummaging Through Her Stroller at the Library

According to Birmingham Police, a woman tried stealing a wallet from a stroller but fled when confronted.

Birmingham Police are reviewing surveillance tapes from Baldwin Public Library after a woman reported that another women tried stealing her wallet out of her stroller. According to police reports, the woman was in the children's section of the library around 2:30 p.m. Friday, March 15. The woman told police she left her stroller in the hallway, just outside the children's area. At one point, however, the woman told police that she noticed another woman going through her stroller. After approaching her, she said the woman was holding her wallet. The woman immediately handed the wallet back, then fled the library. According to police reports, the men — driving a Dodge Nitro and a Mercedes Benz — pulled over at 14 Mile and Greenfield around 6:30 a.m. Tuesday following what both described as road rage. The Nitro driver, a 34-year-old from Livonia, reportedly shoved the Mercedes Benz driver, a 44-year-old from Bloomfield Hills.  Birmingham Police arrested a Waterford woman last week on drunk driving charges. Birmingham Police Follow Tracks in the Snow While Chasing Home Invasion Suspect

Residents reported seeing a suspicious man believed to be behind an attempted home invasion on Dewey Street early Wednesday morning.

Birmingham Police are investigating a report of an attempted home invasion on Dewey Street early Wednesday morning.  According to police reports, a resident living on the 600 block of Dewey Street said the home alarm system went off around 4 a.m. Wednesday. The homeowner told police he saw a man wearing dark clothing running away from his home immediately afterward, though nothing was stolen or disturbed. Police then followed the tracks in the snow from Dewey to Greenwood, and then from Greenwood to Willits, through a yard on the 300 block of Willits, and onto Warren Court, a dead end street near the First Baptist Church in downtown Birmingham. Police discovered THC oil — a concentred form of marijuana — drug parapheranalia and an open bottle of whiskey in the car. Mustang Ends Up on Birmingham Front Lawn After Hit-and-Run

Police arrested a Beverly Hills 21-year-old after he hit two cars on 14 Mile, ended up on a front lawn and then fled the scene.

Birmingham Police arrested a Beverly Hills man earlier this week on drunk driving charges after he drove his Ford Mustang up and onto a front lawn on 14 Mile Road. Police officers were first dispatched to 1100 block of 14 Mile Road around 1 a.m. Tuesday to investigate a hit-and-run accident. According to reports, a Mustang had lost control making a turn, crashed into two cars and ended up on a resident's front lawn. The car then fled the scene, police say. However, officers were able to follow the fluid trail to a home on the 1000 block of Chapin and found the driver, a 21-year-old man from Beverly Hills. Woman Says Her Handbag, iPhone Was Stolen at Corner Bar

According to police reports, the items belonged to a 33-year-old Troy woman who was at the bar Saturday night and into early Sunday morning. The woman told police she left the handbag (with her phone inside) in her booth while she walked around the bar, sometime between 1:30-2 a.m. When she returned, the bag was gone, she said. A witness said she saw three women hanging near the booth around the time of the theft. Police: St. Clair Shores Man Was Driving Drunk, Had Hidden Knife In His Pocket

Check out the latest reports from the Birmingham Police Department: Birmingham police arrested a St. Clair Shores man last weekend not only on drunk driving charges but for carrying two concealed knives as well. The man was pulled over around 1:30 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 16 near the intersection of South Old Woodward and Brown. Police pulled him over, reports state, because he was driving without his headlights on. Police reports say the man was under the influence of alcohol and, according to officers, he was founding carrying a concealed knife in his left breast pocket and a folding knife in his back right pocket.
