The Oakland County Medical Examiner’s Office ruled this week that the death of Cranbrook student Caleb Lei was due to natural causes, police said. The ruling formally concludes the joint police-coroner investigation into the 15-year-old's death on the Cranbrook campus Oct. 5, Lt. Terry McDonnell said in a prepared statement. Further details were not released. Officers responded to a medical emergency call at one of the residential facilities for boys at about 5 a.m. and found an unconscious Lei in the hallway, police reports said. Attempts to revive him with CPR were unsuccessful, Chief Rick Matott said.
