Let State Champion Lacrosse Players Wrap Your Presents This Year

Rain Expected All Weekend, Snow Could Arrive Sunday Night
There's an 80 percent chance of rain on Saturday during the Magic of Birmingham shopping event.
If you'll be out and about this weekend, you might want to bring your umbrellas. According to the National Weather Service, there's a 80 percent chance of rain in Birmingham on Saturday, mainly before noon. The high will be near 41 degrees while winds are expected to blow between seven and 10 miles per hour. And so, bring a jacket if you'll be out at the Magic of Birmingham Saturday (or take advantage of the new valet parking!). The event lasts from noon-4 p.m. throughout downtown Birmingham, beginning with a Kids Holiday Parade at 1 p.m. On Saturday night, the skies will be mostly cloudy with a low of 32 degrees. Shoppers Can Valet Park During Magic of Birmingham This Year
Downtown Birmingham retailers will also be giving away everything from gift certificates to jewelry during the city's sixth annual shopping event.
The Birmingham Winter Markt may be over, but that doesn't mean the holiday season is winding down in Birmingham. In fact, if you're looking to hit up downtown Birmingham for some holiday shopping this year, you'll definitely want to be at the sixth annual Magic of Birmingham, to be held this Saturday and Saturday, Dec. 15 at shops around town. The annual Birmingham shopping event, held from noon-4 p.m. both days, highlights Birmingham's shops and restaurants and features carolers, a warming tent, free carriage rides, ice-carving demonstrations and plenty of prizes. Shopping Season in Full Swing at Downtown Shops
The city's Magic of Birmingham brought bustling activity to the downtown stores Saturday.
The first day of this season's Magic of Birmingham had shoppers busy Saturday, as hundreds flooded downtown streets to buy local as part of the holiday shopping season. As part of the event, dozens of red ornanaments were handed out to downtown shoppers throughout the day, with notes inside directing shoppers to pick up a special gift, one of 2,000 to be given away throughout the two-weekend-long event. This weekend's lucky shopper was Rosemary Kelly of Macomb, who recieved a free diamond necklace from Astrein's Creative Jewelry. The Magic of Birmingham continues next weekend, from 11 a.m.-5 p.m. on Dec. 17. We asked Birmingham business owners how the shopping season has been going so far this year. The city will celebrate the annual shopping event from 11 a.m.-5 p.m. this Saturday and Dec. 17, during which 2,000 shoppers will take home specific gifts while browsing discounted merchandise at dozens of participating retailers.
