Suspect in Birmingham, Bloomfield Robberies Caught in Royal Oak
A 27-year-old Birmingham man arrested Saturday is suspected of being behind an alleged armed robbery at the Hungry Howie's on Woodward Avenue and two attempts earlier.
A 27-year-old Birmingham man has been arrested and police believe he may be behind a robbery at Hungry Howie's in Birmingham and two other attempts in Bloomfield Hills on Saturday night. The man was arrested around 8 p.m. Saturday in Royal Oak on drug charges, according to Birmingham Police Cmdr. Terry Kiernan. Police are investigating whether the man took $40 from Hungry Howie's earlier that evening, an incident in which the suspect indicated he had a weapon while rushing into the store and demanding employees open the register. According to police reports, Hungry Howie's employees reported that a man wearing a red fleece top and white bandana entered the store around 7 p.m. Saturday.
