Upload your pics, then tell us in the caption who's doing what.

We've added some new features to Patch this week and encourage you to try them out. Front and center is a new "Neighborhood Gallery" button that invites you to share your photos with Birmingham Patch readers in a quick and easy way. We receive countless emails with school, church and community event photos attached. We admit it sometimes takes us too long to get to them, though we welcome all reader-submitted photos and news.  But with the new Neighborhood Gallery, you'll be able to bypass our often-crowded inboxes and upload the photos onto Patch yourself. How To Submit Your Announcements to Birmingham Patch

Our announcements page is like the bulletin board at your local coffee shop, and we're inviting everyone to post as much as they like.

As the editor of Birmingham Patch, I really like our announcements section. Unfortunately, I feel like it's underused, and I want to change that. To do that, however, I need your help. On Patch, announcements are opportunities for you and me to spread the news about what’s important in our community. We try to cover as much of Birmingham as we can in our stories, but for the things we can’t, announcements are where it’s at. That’s easy: That’s easy, too. From the Birmingham Patch home page, look for the announcements section under the News tab. Click the button “Announce it to everyone!” in the upper right corner, and from there, you may enter a title, give it a category, write a description, upload a photo or video and enter a location. …

Here at Patch, there are a lot of things you can do besides reading our stories. At many news websites, the most you can do is leave comments.
