The students organized their first food drive just in time for the holidays.
It will be merry Christmas for many in Metro Detroit, thanks to the Groves High School marching band. The student musicians at Groves held their first ever food drive this year, later delivering the goods to Doherty Elementary in West Bloomfield as well to various other student groups at Groves. The food collected will now be donated to young people in need all over Metro Detroit. Do you have photos of Birmingham to share? Marching bands from Seaholm and Groves high schools entertained the crowd during the Celebrate Birmingham Parade Sunday in downtown Birmingham. There was plenty to keeps the crowds excited during the annual event, including a Whiskers and Waggles Pet Parade, local politicians and community groups and plenty of loud fire trucks and police motorcycles. In addition, the Junior League of Birmingham hosted an afternoon of games and activities for the kids at the end of the parade route in Shain Park.
