Police Arrest Teen Caught With a Loaded Rifle Downtown Friday Night

According to the Birmingham Police Department, an 18-year-old from Troy was carrying a M1-.30 caliber rifle that was loaded with one round in the chamber.

An 18-year-old from Troy, Sean Michael Combs, was arrested Friday night in downtown Birmingham after police found him walking around with a rifle slung across his back. According to police reports, officers on foot patrol saw Combs with the rifle walking near South Old Woodward and Merrill  around 10:20 p.m. Officers stopped the teen and asked for identification so they could verify if he was old enough to be in possession of the rifle. Birmingham Police Cmdr. Terry Kiernan said adults are allowed to carry firearms in Michigan, though Combs appeared "very young," Kiernan said. Birmingham Man Arrested in Hit-and-Run; Car Stolen from Parking Garage

The following is a roundup of recent Birmingham Police reports: A 39-year-old man from Birmingham was arrested early Monday morning on charges of operating while intoxicated and failing to stop at an accident. According to police reports, a resident living on the 1400 block of East Lincoln reported that at around 2:45 a.m. Monday, he heard a loud crash outside on the street, where he had parked his car. Upon going outside, the resident saw a vehicle had struck his car and pushed it up into a neighbor's yard and a tree, reports state. The vehicle responsible for the damage was being driven by a man, the resident told police, and he had a passenger with him. The following is a roundup of recent Birmingham Police reports: A 40-year-old man from Royal Oak was arrested early Sunday morning and charged with disorderly conduct after a woman said he allegedly tried to get in her car. According to police reports, officers were dispatched to the area of East Merrill and Pierce Street around 1:50 a.m. due to a possible carjacking in progress. They met up with the car's driver, who said she was dropping off her friend in front of 211 E. Merrill when an unknown man opened the rear door of her car and started to get inside. The following is a roundup of recent Birmingham Police reports: A 55-year-old man from Beverly Hills was arrested Wednesday afternoon at Kroger for allegedly trying to steal two bottles of whiskey. According to police reports, the man was observed by store employees around 4:30 p.m. walking into the liquor aisles and removing two bottles of Gentleman Jack whiskey from the shelf. He then walked to another aisle and put the bottles into his backpack, the reports state. According to police, the man then walked to the checkout lane and purchased a bag of snacks. Police Arrest Intoxicated Man on 14 Mile; Golf Clubs, Bikes Stolen

Following is a roundup of recent Birmingham Police reports: A 53-year-old Pontiac man was arrested Tuesday morning after he was found standing in the middle of 14 Mile Road near Woodward, intoxicated. According to police reports, officers responded to a call that a man was walking in the middle of the road trying to approach vehicles around 9:30 a.m. Officers reported the man was staggering as he walked. Officers learned upon approaching the man that he had been drinking. The man was taken into custody, held until his blood alcohol level was at an acceptable level and charged with disorderly conduct.
