See the Detroit Tigers in Birmingham Thursday

See Justin Verlander and Miguel Cabrera at the Palladium 12 Theater Thursday as part of the team's annual Winter Caravan.

It's definitely not baseball weather out there, but Tigers fans can still see some of their favorite players in Birmingham this Thursday as part of the Detroit Tigers Winter Caravan. Miguel Cabrera, Justin Verlander and Joaquin Benoit will visit the Palladium 12 Theatre in Birmingham from 4-6 p.m. Thursday to spread some baseball fever and rally Birmingham's Tigers fans. At an event beginning at 5 p.m., the three players will answer fan questions, play trivia games and give away raffle prizes and other giveaways. The program is free and open to the public. Should the Tigers' Torii Hunter Move to Birmingham?

Torii Hunter, the Detroit Tigers newest player, took to Twitter on Friday to ask for recommendations on places to stay in the southeastern Michigan area.

On Thursday, free agent outfielder Torii Hunter made news by agreeing to a contract with the Detroit Tigers. Hunter's signing stoked the hot stove for baseball fans in Detroit. And on Friday, Hunter piqued fans' interest even more when he took to Twitter (his account is @toriihunter48) to ask for suggestions on a place to live in the southeastern Michigan area. Do you think Hunter should move to Birmingham? Several Tigers have already recommended our fair city, but what do you think?

Detroit Tigers Merchandise Sales Spike Amid World Series Run

Tigers gear flies off store shelves, outsells World Series opponent's wares.

The Detroit Tigers return home this weekend for Game 3 of the World Series down 0-2 against the San Francisco Giants, but the team's merchandise sales continue to ride a hot streak. The Tigers are No. 2 in Major League Baseball in merchandise sales, behind the New York Yankees, whom the Tigers swept in the American League Championship Series, and just ahead of the Giants, according to the Detroit News. The World Series is a best of seven-game series and diehard fans know that the Tigers have been grinding out victories all season long. So don't panic about the losses so far to the Giants.
