Servers from Elie's Mediterranean Grill raised the most money for the charity during Birmingham Restaurant Week 2013.
The 8th annual Birmingham Restaurant Week was a success, organizers say, raising nearly $4,000 for Forgotten Harvest. In addition, several participating restaurants sold raffle tickets to benefit Forgotten Harvest, Birmingham Restaurant Week's official charity partner for two years in a row. By the end of the two-week-long event, three lucky raffle winners won an "Enjoy Birmingham Package" valued at $500 in gift certificates from businesses such as Adventures in Toys to Qdoba to La Belle Provence. We checked out Cafe Via's $30 menu during Birmingham Restaurant Week.
Monday was my first time at Cafe Via but I thought: what better time to check out this Birmingham favorite than during Birmingham Restaurant Week, when 20 select restaurants around town are offering $30 dinner and $15 lunch menus. At Cafe Via, there's something for every taste on their Restaurant Week dinner menu, including a choice of: I tried the crab cake, chicken and chocolate cake — all delicious — though my dining partner assured me the tomato bisque, pasta and apple crisp was equally great. Cafe Via unveils another dinner menu for the second week of Restaurant Week beginning Monday. For more …
