See 8 Exclusive Birmingham Homes During 25th Annual House Tour

The 2012 Birmingham House Tour will feature everything from a contemporary new build to a pre-Civil War historic home in the heart of town.

This Thursday, you'll be able to take a peek inside some of Birmingham's most impressive homes during the 25th annual Birmingham House Tour. Eight homes from Birmingham will be featured in this year's tour, which takes curious real estate buffs on a tour of the city's most specutacular homes, ranging from traditional to the contemporary. All proceeds from the event, sponsored by The Community House and Hall & Hunter Realtors, will benefit The Community House's wellness, leadership and art outreach programs for children in Pontiac and Detroit. House Tour Opens the Doors to Birmingham's Stylish, Eclectic Homes

More than 1,000 visit eight homes finished in a variety of design styles.

A bright blue sky, a slight breeze and crispness in the air greeted guests on the annual Birmingham House Tour Thursday.   The eight homes included 1920s Tudors, a bungalow-turned-citified town home, an updated 1950s classic colonial, a modern 5,000-square-foot, and an  Aspen-inspired abode.   “We sold more than 1,000 tickets this year,” said Gigi Nichols, The Community House spokesperson. “”We heard all good comments. City Ready to Roll Out the Welcome Mat for the Birmingham House Tour

Mark your calendars for Thursday’s annual tour to benefit The Community House.

“You’ve driven past these houses many times and, if you’re a fan of home design, have often wondered what the interiors look like,” said Michelle Schwab, referring to the eight homes that adorn the line-up of this week’s 24th annual Birmingham House Tour. The event, presented by Hall & Hunter Realtors, runs from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Sept. 15 and promises a peek inside homes with a variety of décor styles, from French country to contemporary. “It’s an opportunity to see how families live their lifestyles in the home,” added Schwab, co-chair of the tour with Kristen Catto Armstrong.
