American House and the DSO Expand Program for Local Seniors
The partnership will bring world-class musicians to more than 20 American House communities in 2013.
The Detroit Symphony Orchestra (DSO) and American House Senior Living Communities are teaming up in 2013 to bring DSO music to thousands of Metro Detroit seniors, including many in the Birmingham area. The DSO will be sending individual musicians and small ensembles to more than 20 American House locations throughout Metro Detroit, a recent press release said, as part of its Neighborhood Residency Initaitive. Launched in 2011, the Neighborhood Residency Initiative combines orchestra concerts and chamber music with educational and social service partnerships and senior engagement programs.
