For three-year-olds, teachers focus on socialization, offering Bible lessons, music, art, story time, play and an introduction to letters and numbers. Those in pre-kindergarten classes are divided by age, with the curriculum focused on preparing for kindergarten. 

Programs for three-year-olds are offered two or three days a week, while pre-kindergarten classes can be three, four or five days a week. The school is tuition-based, with church members and those already enrolled in the program able to take advantage of early enrollment.

Although located in St. James Episcopal Church, the St. James Preschool prides itself on being a child-centeredMore program with no formal religious training and is open to children of all cultures or faiths. 

Classes include a class for young toddlers 12-16 months old and their parents, a morning preschool introduction for toddlers and classes for three- and four-year-olds. Extended day programs and a kindergarten readiness class is also available.

While all lead teachers at St. James Preschool have degrees in education, the school also has a licensed psychologist and speech and lanaguage pathologist on staff.
