We sold our home in Rochester Hills this past June and leased an apartment downtown Birmingham. We wanted to take our time to find the perfect home in Birmingham, so we had Silverback Moving & Storage put almost everything we own into their almost new storage facility- a great decision on our part. We chose Silverback Moving to move (June 2011) from Texas to Michigan. The company representative who gave us a quote (Wayne) was very professional and helpful.

The packers came fully prepared and they were very polite. They handled and packed all our things with care. The movers were also great. They came to our house on time and we didn't have any issues with them. The driver even told us the exact date as to when we can expect our things to arrive in Michigan.

I would suggest to be nice to the movers (offer them water =)) because they will be nice to you and your things. Make sure to check everything when they load your things, so they won't leave any of your stuff behind since the truck is so enormous and your things are not the only ones there. Overall, the move was smooth sailing. We didn't incur any extra charges after the binding quote was made. No damages on our things after the move. The price was reasonable and their service was up to par. I would recommend Silverback Moving to everybody. I don't mind paying extra for packers. They're very efficient and experienced. The next time I move, I will use a reputable and professional company like Silverback Moving. Beware of other companies tha will give you lower estimates but will hassle you later and call you a million times to bother you.

This is my third time using a professional moving service, and by far the best. My son and I heard about Silverback Moving & Storage from a neighbor who had used there service last year.

Silverback Moving & Storage is the best i've used yet. They arrived exactly when they said they would, not a minute later. The movers were polite, paid attention to detail and efficient. I moved from an apartment with three flights of stairs and no elevator to a single-level duplex. The move out took a while, for obvious reasons. But they moved us in within 30 minutes. And they even set up both my beds. Their rates were quite reasonable and included furniture padding and a truck. No driving, no truck rentals, no paying for gas. I will be more than happy to call on them for any future moves.

Life is too short and your time is too valuable to move yourself. In addition to hurting your back and imposing on your friends, you just don't do it enough to be efficient. These guys know what they're doing and will help get you through what will likely be the hardest part of the move. Total time was four hours. If I hadn't had such a high-level condo, I'm sure it would've taken less time. Worth every penny. Believe me.

I wanted to take the opportunity to let you know what a great job the gentleman from Silverback Moving & Storage who came out to my home last saturday did at facilitating my move. The team sent out by Silverback Moving was prompt in arriving, very professional.

We also have a 10x10 storage unit with the company. I liked that the warehouse manager called my husband personally to discuss particulars of the storage conditions. We had a great experience with Silverback Moving. Given our very tight timeline and little notice to tell them when the move would happen we would likely give them a 6th star if that were possible. Our bank couldn't get it's act together, but the ladies in the office worked around it.

The 5 guys who did the actual move were great-- so efficient but so attentive (they noted which nightstand went on which side of our bed and reset our living room in the new house to match the old house exactly!!! We would hire that group again in a heartbeat.

Are they the cheapest? No. They are a full service company and so charge full-service prices. But in the tier of companies like them they were competitive, and, more importantly, they stuck to their cost estimate except when we added services. But if your point of reference is "one big guy and one big truck" then you should keep looking.

I will recommend Silverback Moving to anyone in Southeast Michigan looking for a quality move with a professional team. These guys know what they're doing!

This week we used Silverback Moving to relocate one of our offices from a high-rise to our own building- like clockwork they had everything set up on-time, exactly where it was mapped out on our plans... we would never use another moving company after having Team Silverback on our side! We only had a short window in which to "make our move" and we have a lot of stuff. The charge for 3 men was the same or a little less than what the other two companies we priced wanted for 2 men. We hired Silverback moving based on getting several price quotes and they were the cheapest - guess it is true that you get what you paid for. During a short (5-mile) local move, Silverback moving caused significant damage to several pieces of wood furniture - deep gouges and scratches. In addition, they broke my daughter's dresser by standing on it - a large black boot print on top was pretty clear evidence and a prime example of how they didn't treat our possessions with the necessary level of care.

We spoke with the management and they were unwilling to work with us to resolve our issues. Overall, our experience was very poor and I believe that they have low quality of service and poor customer service. I'd recommend looking elsewhere for your moving needs.

Silverback Moving relocated my apartment in Rochester to my house in Rochester Hills. I called the company after seeing one of their trucks in my neighborhood.

The scheduling department was very friendly, and gave my husband and I some useful tips for the big day. I then received a phone call from the scheduler two days prior to confirm that we were ready for their moving service.

The day of, the crew called us prior to arriving to let us know they would be right on time. As soon as the truck and crew came to our front door they began working immediately. Did not stop until we were in our new home and the job was done.

It was a pleasant surprise to get a call two days after my move (when any problems would have surficed by then) from the owner to be certain that I was 100% happy. By contrast, I took buns back to Kroger here in Birmingham the day I bought them b/c they were "dry" and obviously not fresh... the individual claiming to be the manager on duty made me wish I had never shopped there.
