The Robert Kidd Gallery on Townsend Street in downtown Birmingham is as polished, sleek and sophisticated as the art that it features. The gallery was founded by Robert Louis Kidd and Ray Frost Fleming, both graduates of the internationally known Cranbrook Academy of Art. Fabulous gallery! My husband and I dropped in during an exhibition opening at Robert Kidd Gallery in the fall and were blown away. The space is beautiful and expansive with multiple exhibit galleries and side rooms with even more art. Their selection of paintings and sculpture were top rate with examples from large traditional realism to stunning abstract paintings. The associates who assisted us even took us into vast storage areas in the gallery that housed an even larger collection of work. Both directors were approachable, friendly and highly knowledgeable about the works represented. Most helpful!
We visited the gallery again last month and so enjoyed their new selection of work, we tried two of the paintings at our home. One of these now hangs in our living room. A gem of Birmingham.
