Birmingham Engineering Department
The Birmingham Engineering Department is responsible for construction projects around town, including streets, sidewalks, sewers and parking structures. The Department also manages the city's water system, maintains water quality of the Rouge River and Quarton Lake, maintains city maps, reports street light outages, works with the parking garages and issues various permits pertaining to city infrastructure.
