Working alongside the Birmingham Public School District, the Birmingham Educational Foundation (BEF) helps to supplement school programs by identifying and funding projects that enhance the lives of Birmingham students. The BEF provides support in three areas: academics, the arts and athletics. In the past, the BEF has supported technology grants, provided tutoring services, brought in authors and artists, and helped construct new turf fields at both high schools.
