Come Back to the Five and Dime, Jimmy Dean

The Village Players of Birmingham will open “Come Back to the Five and Dime, Jimmy Dean, Jimmy Dean,” this weekend with performances at 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday, and 2 p.m. Sunday at 34660 Woodward Ave. Tickets are $17 and available on the theater’s website www.birminghamvillageplayers.com or by calling the theater box office at 248-644-2075.

American Promise

See an advanced screening of a 'American Promise' an award-winning documentary at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Grovers High School Little Theater. The film chronicles two African American families over 13 years and probes issues of race, class and opportunity in this country. 

Tenors Un Limited

Meet the "Rat Pack of Opera" on Saturday, 7:30 p.m., at The Berman Center for the Performing Arts. The evening will include a blend of their own compositions and classic opera. For tickets and information, call 248-661-1900 or visit theberman.org.

Monsters Inc. and Pajama Party

National Popcorn Day

Celebrate National Popcorn Day at Palladium 12 and Birmingham 8 Theatres with a free medium popcorn for every ticket holder. The special promotion is all day and good for any movie.
