Groves Garage Sale

The annual PTSA Groves High School garage sale is scheduled from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the school. Early entry begins at 8 a.m. for $2. Students and Birmingham-area residents may donate clean clothes, toys, books, furniture, sports equipment bicycles, electronics, small appliances, and housewares in good condition at the cafeteria on Oct. 24 and 25. Unsold items will be donated to charity and shelters.


Almost Maine

Students at Detroit Country Day School will perform Almost Maine during this opening weekend at 7 p.m. Saturday and 4 p.m. Sunday at the Upper School at 22305 West 13 Mile Rd. in Beverly Hills. Visit the school's website for ticket information.

Boeing, Boeing

St. Dunstan's Theatre presents the final showtimes for 'Boeing, Boeing' at 8 p.m. Oct. 25 and Oct. 26. The Tony Award-winning comedy, written by French playwright Marc Camoletti, takes place in 1960s Paris, and was turned into a movie starring Tony Curtis and Jerrry Lewis. It became a Broadway hit after a 2008 revival. Visit the theater website for ticket information.

Franklinstein Frenzy

Main Street in Franklin makes its annual transformation into a spooky town during Franklinstein Frenzy. The fun starts in a costume parade at 2 p.m. followed by trick-or-treating at Franklin Village shops. Other family friendly activities including pony rides, pumpkin rolls, crafts and activities.

Bullying is No Joke

Defeat the Label hosts this first-time event, featuring comedian JB Smoove, at the Berman Center for the Performing Arts in West Bloomfield on Saturday, 7:30 p.m. Tickets for the comedy fundraiser can be purchased at defeatthelabel.com
